Alexa Wilder
Actor | Singer | Voice Teacher
About Me
Hey there! My name is Alexa Wilder (she/her) and I am a Philadelphia-based actor, singer, and voice teacher. I love performing in all forms of theatre, and I have specifically been passionate about musicals for as long as I can remember. To be able to tell a story through song is magic, and it is my favorite thing to do. I am invigorated by new works and also by revitalizing established works to fit our current world. Additionally, I am DEEPLY passionate about cows and making smoothies.
I am frequently told that in a rehearsal space I have a grounded and calming presence, which is... quite the opposite from how I feel when I do almost anything else. I think that this must be a true testament to how absolutely RIGHT I feel when I am working in a theatre space. Being able to rehearse and perform theatre as my life is a dream come true, and I truly find endless joy and purpose when I am doing it.
I crave theatre that is bold, entertaining, celebratory, and smart. I always strive to give a sense of newness to every role in an effort to make it not only exciting for an audience, but to honor the text from the lens of today's world. We must create theatre that is appropriate and exciting for this very moment in time, and that breaks past the bounds of who theatre has catered to for far too long. I will always advocate for art that is inclusive of people of all backgrounds. Also very importantly, theatre should be FUN, and I also strive to create art that gives people genuine entertainment and an escape.
Welcome to
Alexa Wilder Voice Studio
Hello! My name is Alexa Wilder and I am the founder of Alexa Wilder Voice Studio. I have taught voice for the past 9 years, and during 2020, I decided to open my very own voice studio! Starting my own voice studio is one of the greatest and most fulfilling achievements I have ever done in my life, and I would LOVE to work with you to help you truly find and craft YOUR voice.
Taking voice lessons can be an incredibly vulnerable step (trust me, I get it), and finding the right voice teacher for yourself is so important! I aim to help my students release the anxiety of singing and find the pure enjoyment in it again (since that is truly the whole point). I work with students to find sustainable vocal practices to preserve their unique instrument using their full body and discovering the mental connection and impacts on singing as well. Many of my students tell me that my positivity and encouragement as a voice teacher is refreshing and healing, and I am so happy that I can offer that to people. I strive to always make my studio a safe space for all, and accessibility is my top priority.
My expertise lies in Musical Theatre, Pop/Rock, and Classical, and I work with students of all ages to achieve their dreams of professional performance, college auditions, and sometimes simply just finding their confidence again.
